One of the key experiences of the founder of Mojo was Durty Nellies Irish pub in Beijing, China. In 1996, we were engaged by a Chinese / Romanian joint venture to create an Irish Pub in a disused warehouse in the San Li Tun district. We worked with local labour where demolition was carried out using a mixture of kung-fu and shovels, obviously CDM and H&S regulations were not applicable at that time!  

For just under a year from concept through to completion, one of the challenges we faced was sourcing old materials. This was achieved through shipping items from Ireland and discovering old raw materials to re-use in some of the villages on the outskirts of Beijing. The pub is still trading today.
