Six Tribes is a unique cafe being vertically integrated from bean to cup. Our clients who are experts in biodynamic farming, together with Thailand’s Royal Development Project for Hill Tribes partnered with displaced tribe peoples of Chiang Mai to grow coffee instead of poppy. The coffee is roasted in-house and will be sold within their own coffee bars in the United Arab Emirates. The proposed interior will take advantage of the rich traditions of Thailand by engaging local Thai’s to craft original bespoke items. Concrete floors will be laid to represent elephant skin, rustic and gnarly teak wood will be used to clad the ceilings and sculptures will be carved into granite walls. Upholstery fabric will be crafted by the different tribes, each representing their own history and culture. Reclaimed trees will be uplit together with old timber doors utilized as screening.
